Why botanical medicine?

Herbal medicine has been healing people for thousands of years. 3500 years ago the ancient Egyptians derived what is known today as the first medical text. This text named the Ebers Papyrus, dating 1,500 years before recorded Chinese medicine, lists over 700 medicinal herbs. Herbs like aloe vera and senna are still very popular herbs used today and in fact are highly recommended by Performance Coaching. Around the world contemporary & alternative medicine (CAM) practionnaires are increasingly using herbs and other natural therapies to combat the devastating chronic diseases that are plaguing highly industrialized societies. These practices are being utilized with renowned understandings of the body’s own power to heal via natural sources.

Herbal vs. synthetic:

It must be noted first off that of the top 50 pharmaceutical drugs on the market approximately 80% of those drugs are from a botanical origin. Yes, most of all drugs are actually from the plant itself but synthetically altered for patentable reasons. Furthermore, there is a shift happening and the reason many Americans are turning against these synthetic drugs and looking for alternatives are the numerous side effects that are so common. In fact, a standard almanac for pharmacists even states, “If a drug stated has no noticeable side effects, then it is strongly suspected it has no central benefit.” Whereas, most botanical herbs have zero side effects.

As you know many Americans are suffering from a host of chronic conditions of which may require up to three drugs for treatment. I would guess you know somebody currently that is spending a lot of money and countless hours in the doctor’s office only to get another prescription. Many clients coming to Performance Coaching can be taking up to 20 different pharmaceutical drugs at one time, this cannot be good for long-term health. Herbal medicine is inexpensive and works great when used correctly. Performance Coaching chooses to harness the remarkable benefit from botanicals that are harvested straight from South America in the Amazon Rainforest, which happens to be the world’s greatest natural resource for bio-active powerful healing alternatives.

The Amazon Rainforest has been a representative symbol of mystery and power, a sacred link between humans and nature. It is also the richest biological tool on the planet at our disposal, yet we are cutting it down at alarming rates and largely ignore its magnificent abilities. It supports millions of plants, animal and insect species, which is a virtual library waiting to be tapped full of chemical invention. In these archives, drugs like quinine, muscle relaxants, steroids and cancer drugs are found (remember 80% of all pharmaceuticals are botanical). More importantly, are the new drugs still awaiting discovery - drugs for AIDS, cancer, chronic fatigue, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's and many more. Many secrets and untold treasures are awaiting discovery with the medicinal plants used by shamans, healers and the indigenous people of the Rainforest Tribes. Maybe we should pay these rainforest healers the kind of money we funnel into cancer research and we might get better results? Why take graviola (a cancer suppressing herb) and transform it in the lab for big profit when we can drink herbal tea as nature intended? So alluring are the mysteries of indigenous medical knowledge that over 100 pharmaceutical companies and even the US government are currently funding projects studying the indigenous plant knowledge and the specific plants used by native shamans and healers. And what for, to heal people or make big profits?

⇒ Rich in beneficial nutrients, phytochemicals and active constituents, the rainforest Indians and Indigenous people have used them for centuries for their survival, health and well-being. And I can point to several examples in my personal life and clients lives where these nutrient rich botanicals have been improving quality-of-life.

If long term wellness has become a priority to you then taking into consideration the power and benefit of Rainforest herbs is highly suggested.
