A large part of Performance Coaching revolves around the practice of Leadership Development Coaching. After 8 years of corporate executive coaching we are excited about bringing our leadership coaching programs to the public. Jeff Ravenscroft has extensive experience in leadership coaching having completed a Masters from the University of Oklahoma in Human Relations and reaching the mid point in Doctoral program at Oklahoma State University in Developmental Psychology (Health & Human Performance).

We have over 500 hours of classroom leadership facilitation and a legion of additional hours working one-on-one with a multitude of different populations of people. Our programs can be administered in a group coaching format or individually in a private one-on-one setting. Performance Coaching is available on-site at the organizational level, in person, and via the internet & phone coaching opportunites.

Four benchmarks that complete our program are Stephen Covey beginning with 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in unison with Principle-centered leadership, The DiSC dimensions of behavior profile, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. The blending of these three tools develops a powerful leadership development program!

The DiSC

The DiSC profile is a highly successful personal awareness tool used by leaders around the globe. The DiSC profile is utilized in a leadership coaching program to better understand the dimensions of behavior and how those dimensions of behavior affect the relationships in our lives. Understanding how your behavior affects other people and consequently how other peoples behavior affects you helps us to be flexible in adapting to people, circumstances, and situations.  Being able to approach people with a better awareness of human behavior allows us to be more successful in personal relations. Thus, the DiSC helps us to strengthen our personal leadership and aids us in our ability to sustain long-term success.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

In the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, author Stephen Covey presents a holistic, integrated, principle-centered approach for solving personal and professional problems. With penetrating insights and pointed anecdotes, Covey reveals a step-by-step pathway for living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity--principles that give us the security to adapt to change and the wisdom and power to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates. What Covey has done so well is package the self-improvement process in a terrific format. Whether in a one-on-one relationship or at an organizational level the results can be remarkable!

The 7 Habits book is an extensive read and preferably used as a reference manual upon completion of material presented and yet utilized throughout coaching relationship.

Principle-Centered Leadership

Possibly the greatest leadership book in existence, in my opinion. This study is dynamic and rewarding, the benefits of becoming a principle-centered leaders are what determines a successful leader. The material is succinct yet deep, and applicable to every person who is searching to develop more effectiveness with others.

  • Highlights 30 pinpointed methods to influence others
  • Iliustrates powerful principles for any leader
  • Portrays characteristics of principle-centered leaders
  • Explains a true "north" compass
  • These are but a few of the bullets found within the text of Principle-Centered Leadership
Principle-Centered Leadership hits hard and can be read quickly, waiting at the airport, early to an event, right before bed, or it is a perfect leadership bible to entertain your deep reading time.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Re-conditioning the psychological routine of any improvement plan serves us magnificently. Seeking to alter deeply rooted scripts from years of conditioning is absolutely a worthy discipline. Re-structuring how we see ourselves, how we choose foods and friends, view others, understand our thoughts, and practice preventative medicine jump starts our chances of long-term success.

Another piece of leadership coaching is the treatment (or exercise) that targets thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physiological symptoms in the present to seek immediate improvement. It holds the belief that the way we perceive situations influence the way we think, feel, and behave. So, it relies on the assumption that one’s beliefs, thoughts, ideals, and perceptual biases influence emotions and the intensity of those emotions thus affecting our experiences in given circumstances and situations.

This is the basic understanding of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). CBT is short-term focused therapy whereas, most psycho-therapy is long-term digging into past environmental conditions and can take years. By understanding how one’s immediate behavior and consequently how other peoples behavior affect outcomes allows us to become better equipped to handle behavioral change.

  • In conclusion, our program focuses on each of these three components; Cognitive Behavior Therapy (Rational Behavior Therapy), The DiSC profile for understanding the dimensions of behavior, and Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It is a unique blend of three of the most powerful tools in any Leadership Development course.
