Adult Fitness Training:

Every study on human health tells us to get the body moving. However, physical activity has been declining over the past decades and this pattern appears to be taking a toll on America's health. The average time a teenager spends in front of the television and a computer screen is frightening (new study suggests the average teen spends 46 hours a week). Moreover, the amount of time that grown adults spend in front of the television has likewise exploded in the past 15 years. I know at my house we have a satellite that picks up hundreds of channels. Funny thing, until I had reconstructive shoulder surgery and needing a spell to recover did I learn the amount of channels that feed my house, hundreds!!

The stats are scary, as mentioned in the web page tab on statistics that somewhere around 65% of Americans lack any physical activity in a typical week. Why is this? Because some schools are cutting out physical education classes, sedentary jobs have increased, we live in an instant gratification society (exercise takes time), some rationalize claiming they don't have time, lack of motivation, and on and on. In years past Americans would sweep floors manually, scrub dishes by hand, and even walk to the store? Not anymore, heck some folks drive their cars to their mailbox?
